The Antietam Institute offers a variety of informative, thought-provoking, and enjoyable events. Attendance is kept low to encourage close interaction between participants, speakers, and excursion leaders.

The Institute offers two major programs for Members:

The three-day Fall Conference includes speakers and battlefield excursions on interesting topics relating to the campaign.

The one-day Spring Symposium involves a series of timely talks and interactions on the campaign.

As the Institute grows, we will explore adding additional programs such as leadership forums and teacher workshops.

The theme of 2023’s conference is “Prelude to Antietam: Forcing the South Mountain Gaps” and features a number of unique lectures and battlefield excursions.
