Welcome to the Antietam Institute
We are an organization of more than 400 people on a mission to research, share, and preserve the history of the Battle of Antietam and the 1862 Maryland Campaign: a major turning point of the Amarican Civil War that resulted directly in the Emancipation Proclamation.

Programs
The Antietam Institute hosts three annual programs: the Fall Conference, Spring Symposium, and Summer Lecture Series, as well as seasonal events throughout the year. Also offered are custom leadership seminars for military and professional groups.
Publications
Institute publications are helping increase public understanding of the Maryland Campaign of 1862. These include the twice-yearly Antietam Journal and a series of original full length books.
Membership
