The Antietam Institute is a member centered organization with a mission to educate the public on the critical importance of the Battle of Antietam and the 1862 Maryland Campaign: a major turning point of the Civil War that resulted directly in the Emancipation Proclamation. Programs
The Antietam Institute offers a variety of informative, thought-provoking, and enjoyable events. Attendance is kept low to encourage close interaction between participants, speakers, and excursion leaders. Two programs are planned: the Fall Conference and Spring Symposium.
Publications
Institute publications help increase public understanding of the Maryland Campaign of 1862 and include the twice-yearly Antietam Journal and a series of new full length works.

The Historical Research Center (HRC) is a curated selection of digital reference material to help you in your study of the Battle of Antietam and the Maryland Campaign.
We’re collecting unit histories, images, and documents which shed light on Antietam and the Campaign of 1862, and you can browse or search them in the HRC.
